If you are not sure how to arrange furniture in a living room, orient seating so it takes advantage of whatever view your room has to offer, whether it is a TV or a bank of windows. Create your own focal point by hanging a large piece of art on a wall or create a vignette of favorite objects on a console or bookshelf. If you can not decide between arranging the furniture around the fireplace or the TV, choose both and mount the TV above the fireplace.
A loveseat is also an option when it comes to sofas. They take up less space and, while they do have less seating, they are perfect for people with smaller areas or for those who want to make their space appear larger. Due to the vast number of styles and varieties of sofas, it is hard to give an exact range of price. A simple and small sofa can cost as little as a couple of hundred dollars, and a higher quality larger sofa can cost a few thousand.
Many times, living spaces become somewhat of a "catch all" for belongings, toys, and other random things. By providing a place for some of these items to be stored, you can help to alleviate some of the eye-sore factor that comes with a cluttered mess. If you have wall space, consider adding a bookshelf for storage. You can use the lower shelves for larger items contained in baskets or bins and the higher shelves can be reserved for lighter items like books or accent decor. You can also utilize floor space by selecting a coffee table that doubles as a storage ottoman, which can be a home to a wide variety of random items.
